Well after a long day at the hospital we are finally home. We got there about midday and were pretty quickly seen by the doctor. It's quite nice on the ward because lots of the staff recognise us so we got a warm welcome! The doctor agreed that the first thing to try is to up his medicine dose to try and bring the seizures back under control. He hasn't had it increased since week 2 and has put a good bit of weight since then. We won't try the new dose till tomorrow so this evening he is still have frequent seizures which are horrible to watch. We're really hoping tomorrow after the bigger dose he will be much better. The doctor said William is still on a reasonable dose per kg of weight so there is still lots of scope to increase the dosage.
We (William, Glenna and Helen) were asked to do the ward a big favour before we left. They were having some practice doctors exams and needed patients to practice on. Someone had dropped out so they asked if we could stay to help. We agreed thinking it would just be for half an hour. However 4 hours later we were finally released! It was a long day but the staff were all very thankful and accommodating! We met lots of other parents with children with different medical problems and we really enjoyed chatting to them. By the end of the day I was quite bored of telling different doctors what was wrong with William but it was good to be able to give a little something back to the hospital!
After William has been doing so well with his bottle feeding it's been hard watching his seizures come back. When he does well it's easy to forget that he doesn't have lots of other problems, then when something like this happens it's like you get brought back down to earth with a thud. Please pray lots that the increase in medicine tomorrow will have the desired effect so we can still make it up to Cheshire. We are so desperate to go and introduce William to Helen's family.
I've recently joined a baby website community and joined a group with other mums of special needs children. I posted the other day a little about William and have had a few replies so far from other mums. One lady has written today about a child she knows with the same condition as William and was really encouraging. I'm so thankful for the support you can get in different places!
On Sunday at Church we sang a song that nearly me cry! But in a good way! Please pray that we would keep these words close to our hearts:
Jesus hope of the nations
Jesus comfort for all who mourn
You are the source of Heaven's hope on earth
Jesus light in the darkness
Jesus truth in each circumstance
You are the source of Heaven's light on earth
In history You lived and died
You broke the chains You rose to life
You are the hope living in us
You are the rock in Whom we trust
You are the light
Shining for all the world to see
You rose from the dead conquering fear
Our Prince of Peace drawing us near
Jesus our hope living for all who will receive
Lord we believe
And a picture for the day...

Not good having to go back to hospital, but praise God that you didn't have to stay overnight (and would have been home lots earlier had you not been so nice!) Really hope you manage to get away this week. Thinking of you all lots. Anything we can do, just say. We're getting good at house and dog looking after! Love you all lots xxx
