So on Thursday we finally made it up to Alsager. William had a busy weekend meeting lots of friends and family. On Friday he went to see our friends Simon and Belinda and William loved playing in their farmyard baby gym!
On Saturday he had a really busy day meeting lots of family! He first went to his great aunty Pauline's and met 3 great aunties, 1 great uncle, 2 first cousins once removed, 3 second cousins and 1 second cousin once removed! We then went off to great aunty Carol's and met another 2 great aunties, 1 great uncle, 3 cousins once removed and 3 second cousins! We than had a birthday tea in the evening for Helen with nanny Linda, Grandpa David, Aunty Ang and cousin Adam! The highlight of which was the whole family playing their very own version of ITV's 'Take Me Out'.
The on Sunday morning William got to meet the bishop of Chester and lots of nanny Linda's friends at Church. He was very good but snored most the way through the service! On Sunday afternoon he got to meet his great great aunty Molly who thought he was very cute.
He's been doing well and the fits are still very short and only a few each day. However we've had a bit of a setback with his feeding. He coughs a lot when taking his bottle. We were hoping it was just related to the bronchiolitis he had but he now seeems to be doing just when feeding. We're a bit worried this may be caused by him taking milk into his lungs (aspirating) so we are holding back a bit with his bottles. He is still having some by bottle to keep his skills going but most by tube. Tomorrow morning the community nurse is coming round to observe him feeding. It may be just caused by his reflux we think, in which case it can be treated. However, some children have an unsafe swallow (which can be checked by carrying out an x-ray while feeding) which stops them from being allowed liquids orally as they take too much liquid into the lungs. We're really hoping this won't turn out to be the case as he seems to love drinking from his bottle, and it's much easier for us! More to come on this....
