He's doing really well with his feeding. He started feeding well from his bottle a couple of weeks ago now. Then he developed a really bad cold and cough which made it harder for him and made him sick after some of his feeds. We went back to giving him mostly tube feeds for a few days and slowly built back up his bottle feeds.
We saw his consultant last week who, on hearing him cough, said it sounded like he had bronchiolitis. He does seem to be getting better but apparently it can take a while for it to clear up completely and for the cough to go. Thankfully he didn't need any hospital time for this like some children do. For the past couple of days he's been able to take all his feeds by bottle which is really great. Today for the first time we gave him his medicine orally rather than through his tube so we've not needed to use the tube at all today! We're really pleased he's managing this, he is slow with his bottles, mostly because he falls asleep near the end. Hopefully he'll continue to improve with his bottle feeding but we've read stories of other children who's feeding has worsened after a few months so we just take each day at a time and are glad with each day he manages to feed by bottle.
The phenobarb continues to make him very sleepy. He has some days where he sleeps pretty much all day apart from when he wakes for his feed. Some days though he does have more awake times and he seems to enjoy being laid on the floor and being tickled. He's not a very cuddly baby at the moment but it does make it easier to put him to sleep.

The phenobarb is controlling his seizures pretty well now. However in the last few days we've noticed some eye twitching which is a little different than before. We spoke to a consultant at the hospital this morning as we were told to let them know if we saw any changes. As there hasn't been a big increase in the number or length of the seizures they don't need to make any changes at the moment. Please pray that the phenobarb will continue to control them. We don't want any more hopsital visits yet!
